Citizens Financial Group Inc (NYSE: CFG), founded in 1828, is one of the oldest financial institutions in the United States. The Group’s banking subsidiary is Citizens Bank, N.A.; a second subsidiary, Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, was merged into it on January 2, 2019. Citizens Financial is a leading commercial bank holding company with more than 1,000 branches, including 117 in-store locations, about 3,100 ATMs and 17,398 full-time equivalent employees as of December 31, 2025. It operates a branch network in 14 states and the District of Columbia, in the New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions, as well as 75 retail and commercial non-branch offices. Citizens is the 12th largest bank in the U.S. by deposits and a predominant bank in the New England region. As of December 31, 2025, it had $226.4 billion in total assets, $183.3 billion in deposits, $142.7 billion in loans and leases and $26.3 billion in total stockholders’ equity, as well as total client assets of $61.9 billion including $35.9 billion of assets under management. Total assets stood at $233.8 billion as of June 30, 2026. The company provides a wide range of financial products and services including money market accounts, IRAs, certificates of deposit, mortgage and home equity loans, auto loans, student loans, business loans, credit cards, transaction and cash management, wealth management, online and mobile banking as well as commercial banking services. In November 2015, Citizens Financial Group became a fully independent publicly-traded company (RBS Group sold its remaining stake in Citizens in October 2015). As of November 20, 2017, CFG had a market capitalization of over $19 billion.
