Xenith Bank

Xenith Bank was a full-service commercial bank providing a wide range of products and services to individuals and businesses. It offered commercial and industrial loans, residential real estate loans, consumer loans, credit cards, checking, savings and treasury products, private banking, online and mobile banking, and other services. With over 450 employees, it had a network of over 40 branches and four loan production offices in Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia. The company was established in 1987 and operated as a subsidiary of Xenith Bankshares, Inc (XBKS). In July 2016, Xenith Bank merged with The Bank of Hampton Roads. The combined company assumed the name Xenith Bank for all banking operations. As of September 30, 2017, it had total assets of $3.3 billion, gross loans of $2.4 billion, total deposits of $2.6 billion and shareholders' equity of $484 million. Xenith Bankshares was acquired by Union Bankshares Corporation, and Xenith Bank was merged into Union Bank & Trust on January 1, 2018, ceasing to exist as a separate FDIC-insured institution. Its final report to the FDIC, at December 31, 2017, showed total assets of $3.28 billion and total deposits of $2.57 billion. Union Bank & Trust was renamed Atlantic Union Bank on May 20, 2019, and the Xenith name is no longer used.
