LifeStore Bank was established in 1939 and is headquartered in West Jefferson, North Carolina, with four offices serving Ashe and Watauga Counties.

LifeStore Financial Group (LSFG) is the holding company for LifeStore Bank and LifeStore Insurance Services. The Bank provides a wide range of financial services to retail and business customers. It offers checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, lines of credit, debit cards, automobile loans, construction loans, mortgage loans, investments, online banking as well as insurance services including home and auto insurance, life and health insurance, dental insurance, farm insurance and business insurance. The company was formerly known as AF Bank and changed its name to LifeStore Bank in 2009. The Bank is a member of FDIC and an Equal Housing Lender. As of June 30, 2026, it had total assets of $491.3 million, deposits of $429.7 million, net loans of $320.3 million and employed 74 staff.
