Man Group plc is an independent asset manager with US$253.6 billion in total assets under management as of June 30, 2026. It offers a wide range of alternative and traditional investment products to private investors, institutions and financial professionals around the world. The company operates 25 office locations around the world; as of 2017 its key centers were in the U.S., Switzerland, Liechtenstein, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Uruguay. Man Group is listed on the London Stock Exchange; its market capitalization was over GBP 2 billion as of December 21, 2016. In 2010, Man Group acquired GLG Partners Inc, a large discretionary fund manager. In May 2012, Man agreed to acquire the entire issued share capital of FRM Holdings Ltd, a hedge fund investment firm. In August 2014, Man acquired Pine Grove Asset Management LLC, a credit-focused fund of hedge fund manager. In December 2014, Man Group announced acquisition of Merrill Lynch Alternative Investments LLC’s Fund of Hedge Fund Portfolio with total AUM of US$1.2 billion. Man GLG was named 'Leading Pan-European Hedge Fund' in the 2016 Extel Survey. Man Group was established in 1783, employs more than 1,700 people and is led by chief executive Robyn Grew.
