Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Limited (BAMLI) was a London-based bank that provided financial services to large multinational groups, financial institutions, governments and government entities primarily in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company’s principal business was Global Banking & Markets. It offered corporate and institutional unsecured lending in addition to certain asset-backed and secured lending, global transaction services, leasing and Investment banking advisory as well as loan syndication services. By late 2018 it operated seven branches in continental Europe: Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Zurich, Madrid and Milan. Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Ltd (previously named Bank of America International Limited and later Banc of America Securities Limited) was established in 1971 and was based in London, the United Kingdom. BAMLI was a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of America National Association (BANA). On December 1, 2018 BANA merged BAMLI into Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Designated Activity Company of Dublin (Irish registration 229165) under the European Union cross-border merger regime, as part of Bank of America’s response to the expected 2019 departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union. Companies House records BAMLI, registration number 01009248, as converted or closed on January 11, 2019. The Dublin company was renamed Bank of America Europe Designated Activity Company in November 2020.
