MB Financial Bank

MB Financial Bank N.A. was one of the largest independent banks in Chicago area, with about 3,500 employees and more than 90 branches. The company provided a diversified portfolio of personal, commercial and business banking products and services including wealth management, private banking, investments, personal trust and estate services and institutional trust and retirement plan solutions. The Bank owned LaSalle Solutions, a leading provider of technology life-cycle asset management services. MB Financial Bank N.A. was a wholly-owned subsidiary of MB Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBFI). In December 2015, it completed acquisition of MSA Holdings, parent company of MainStreet Investment Advisors and Cambium Asset Management. As of September 30, 2017, MB Financial had $20.1 billion in total assets, $14.4 billion in total deposits and $13.7 billion in loans.

Fifth Third Bancorp's acquisition of MB Financial, Inc. closed on March 21, 2019 and took effect on March 22, 2019; MB Financial, Inc. deregistered its securities on April 1, 2019 and the MBFI listing was withdrawn. MB Financial Bank, N.A. itself continued to operate until May 4, 2019, when it was merged into Fifth Third Bank of Cincinnati, Ohio, transferring 92 branches. Its final call report showed $19.6 billion in total assets and $14.8 billion in total deposits at March 31, 2019. The MB Financial brand was retired; the surviving institution, renamed Fifth Third Bank, National Association in November 2019, reported $299.2 billion in total assets and 1,521 offices at June 30, 2026.
