National Bank of Canada (NBC) is the leading bank in Quebec and one of the top 10 banks in the country. It provides a complete range of financial products and services to retail, commercial and corporate customers. It is active player on international markets and is involved in securities brokerage, wealth management, insurance, mutual funds and retirement solutions. National Bank Investments offers more than 125 investment funds. As at October 31, 2025, NBC had 35,378 employees worldwide and 3.1 million Personal and Commercial clients, and operated 382 branches and 939 banking machines across Canada, most of them in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick. It also has subsidiaries and representative offices in Hong Kong, London (UK), Dublin, Paris, Nassau, Havana and New York. The Bank is mainly used by French-speaking Canadians, with the majority of bank branches being centred in the province of Quebec. In 2016, the Private Banking division increased its presence in Western Canada with new offices in Vancouver and Calgary. For a seventh consecutive year, NBC was named one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers by Mediacorp. On February 3, 2025, National Bank of Canada completed its acquisition of Canadian Western Bank for total purchase consideration of C$7.7 billion, the largest acquisition in its history, extending its branch network across Western Canada. As at October 31, 2025, the bank had total assets of C$577 billion and a market capitalization of C$61 billion. As of April 30, 2017, the company had reported total assets of $239 billion and assets under management and administration of over $425.8 billion.
