Banco Sabadell (BMAD: SAB) is Spain’s sixth largest banking group. The company offers a full range of financial services through its different banks, brands, subsidiaries and associates. The Group includes the following banks and brands: Banco Sabadell S.A. (parent), Banco de Asturias, Banco Urquijo, Sabadell Banca Privada, Banco Herrero, Solbank, ActivoBank, Banco Guipuzcoano and SabadellAtlantico. SabadellAtlantico is the group's major brand serving business and individual customers in the whole of Spain except the Asturias and Leon region, which is served by the locally focused Banco Herrero brand. Solbank focuses on banking for European expatriates residing permanently in Spain and for businesses serving areas of residential tourism. It has 85 branches located in coastal parts of the mainland regions of Valencia, Murcia and Andalucía as well as branches in the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. Banco Urquijo is a specialised subsidiary with extensive experience in private banking services. In total, Banco Sabadell operates over 1,400 branches across the country. Sabadell's international network comprises branches in France, Morocco, UK and the US and representative offices in Algeria, Brazil, Chile, China, Dominican Republic, India, Mexico, Singapore, Turkey, UAE and Venezuela. Banco Sabadell's presence in America comprises one full service branch and a number of representative offices, subsidiaries and associates. The acquisition of TransAtlantic Bank (a Florida-based retail bank) was the starting point for Banco Sabadell's growing US commercial banking operation. In April 2008, Banco Sabadell acquired BBVA's Miami based private banking business. In 2009, Banco de Sabadell acquired Mellon United National Bank (MUNB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon. MUNB has 15 branches in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Banco Sabadell also holds equity interests in Banco del Bajío and Banco BHD, which enjoy high reputations in the strategic markets of Mexico and the Dominican Republic respectively. Banco Sabadell was founded in 1881 and is headquartered in Sabadell, Catalonia. As of March 31, 2012, the Bank had total assets of EUR105.321 billion.
