Banco de Sabadell, S.A. is Spain’s fourth largest banking group in terms of total assets. It offers a full range of financial products and services through its different banks, brands, subsidiaries and associates. Sabadell Group includes the following banks and brands: Banco Sabadell S.A. (parent), Banco Urquijo, Banco Herrero, Solbank, ActivoBank, Banco Guipuzcoano, SabadellAtlantico and SabadellCAM. SabadellAtlantico is the group's major brand serving business and individual customers in the whole of Spain except the Asturias and Leon region, which is served by the locally focused Banco Herrero brand. Solbank focuses on banking for European expatriates residing permanently in Spain and for businesses serving areas of residential tourism. It has branches located in coastal parts of the mainland regions of Valencia, Murcia, Andalucía, the Balearic and the Canary Islands. Banco Urquijo is a specialised subsidiary with extensive experience in private banking services. Sabadell's international network comprises branches and offices in France, Morocco, the UK, Poland, the U.S., Algeria, Brazil, Chile, China, Dominican Republic, India, Mexico, Singapore, Turkey, UAE, Peru, Venezuela and Columbia. The presence in America includes one full service branch and a number of representative offices, subsidiaries and associates. The acquisition of TransAtlantic Bank (a Florida-based retail bank) was the starting point for Banco Sabadell's growing US commercial banking operation. In April 2008, Sabadell acquired BBVA's Miami based private banking business. In 2009, Banco de Sabadell acquired Mellon United National Bank (MUNB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon. MUNB has 20 branches in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Banco Sabadell also holds equity interests in Banco del Bajío and Banco BHD, which enjoy high reputations in the strategic markets of Mexico and the Dominican Republic respectively. Banco Sabadell was founded in 1881 and is headquartered in Sabadell, Catalonia. As of September 30, 2017, it had total assets of EUR 211.076 billion, customer deposits of EUR 129.7 billion, 1,930 domestic branches and 25,972 employees.
