Banco Popolare

Banco Popolare Societa Cooperativa was the largest cooperative bank and one of the top five banking groups in Italy with approximately 1,700 branches, 2.6 million customers and 17,000 employees. Banco Popolare operated as a commercial bank with principal focus on retail segment and small/medium sized businesses. It offered current and savings accounts, consumer and commercial loans, debit and credit cards, asset management, corporate finance, bancassurance and other services. The company was created in 2007 from the merger of Banco Popolare di Verona e Novara and the Banca Popolare Italiana.

In 2016, Banco Popolare merged with Banca Popolare di Milano S.p.A. to form Banco BPM S.p.A.
