In 2013, RBC completed acquisition of the Canadian subsidiary of Ally Bank. In July 2015, RBC agreed to sell Royal Bank of Canada (Suisse) SA, its Switzerland-based private banking business, to SYZ Group. In November 2015, RBC acquired City National Corporation, the US financial institution with 75 offices in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Nevada, New York City, Nashville and Atlanta. Royal Bank of Canada was established in 1864 in Halifax and is headquartered in Toronto. As of January 31, 2017, it had total assets of C$1.2 trillion, loans of C$535.6 billion and deposits of C$757.5 billion. The company has strong credit ratings: AA- by Standard & Poor’s, Aa3 by Moody’s and AA by Fitch.
