Public Bank Berhad (PBB), founded in 1966 by Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow, is one of the leading providers of financial services in Malaysia with total assets of RM 380.053 billion (US$85 billion). Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow, the Chairman, owns nearly a quarter of Public Bank. He began his banking career in 1950 and has 70 years experience in the banking industry. Teh Hong Piow founded Public Bank in 1965 at the age of 35. His net worth is estimated by Forbes to be US$4.7 billion (March 2017). He is the fourth-richest man in Malaysia.
