Below are the 50 largest banks and banking groups in the world ranked by market capitalisation as of January 8, 2024. JP Morgan Chase was the world’s most valuable bank at US$498.0 billion, worth more than second-placed Bank of America and third-placed ICBC combined. Together the 50 banks in the table were worth about US$5.02 trillion, of which the ten largest accounted for US$2.13 trillion. The United States contributed 11 banks to the ranking and China 7, followed by Australia and Canada with 5 each and India and Japan with 3 apiece; France, Indonesia, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Spain supplied two banks each.
