Banks in Liechtenstein

There are 15 licensed banks in Liechtenstein. The Banks primarily focus on private banking and wealth management. As of March 2017, the assets under the management (AUM) of Liechtenstein banks amounted to over US$230 billion.

Bank Alpinum AG – A Liechtenstein-based independent private bank headquartered in Vaduz. As of June 2017, it had CHF 333.3 million in total assets.

Bank Frick & Co. AG, founded in 1998, is a family-run bank with headquarters in Balzers and branch in London, UK. It is owned by the Kuno Frick Family Foundation (70%) and Net 1 UEPS Technologies (30%). Bank Frick is the first Liechtenstein bank to launch a certificate based on cryptocurrencies.

Bank Vontobel (Liechtenstein) AG, headquartered in Vaduz is a subsidiary of Vontobel Holding AG, a Swiss private bank specializing in wealth and asset management.

Banque Pasche (Liechtenstein) was acquired by Banque Havilland and changed its name to Banque Havilland (Liechtenstein) AG in 2014.

Bendura Bank AG (formerly Valartis Bank (Liechtenstein) AG) was established in 1998 and operates as a subsidiary of Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group, a Hong Kong company.

Centrum Bank AG, established in 1993, was unique private bank controlled by Marxer & Partner, the oldest and largest law firm in Liechtenstein. It was acquired by VP Bank Group in 2015.

EFG Bank von Ernst AG was founded in 1869 and operates as a subsidiary of EFG International, a private banking group based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Kaiser Partner Privatbank AG is a subsidiary of Kaiser Ritter Partner Holding Anstalt, a wealth management company.

LGT Bank AG is the largest bank in Liechtenstein. LGT is an international private bank with presence in over 20 countries in Europe, America, Asia, and the Middle East. As of September 2017, the company had over CHF 180 billion in assets under management.

Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG (LLB), established in 1861, provides private and corporate banking services. In December 2017, it acquired Semper Constantia Privatbank AG, one of the leading private banks in Austria. As of January 5, 2018, LLB had a market capitalization of US$1.6 billion.

Neue Bank AG is a classic private serving local and international clients. It was established in 1992 and is headquartered in Vaduz.

Raiffeisen Privatbank Liechtenstein AG, established in 1998, provides a wide range of services for external asset managers. In October 2017, The Hong Kong-based Mason Group Holdings announced acquisition of Raiffeisen Privatbank Liechtenstein.

Union Bank AG provides a wide range of banking services to corporates, high net worth individuals, hedge funds and Institutions. It is a member of Liechtenstein’s Investor Compensation Scheme.

Volksbank AG (Liechtenstein) provides a wide range of banking and asset management services.

VP Bank AG (formerly Verwaltungs-und Privat-Bank AG) is one of the largest banks in Liechtenstein with about 800 employees and US$43 billion in total assets under administration. The Bank’s shares are listed on SIX Swiss Exchange.
