Top Banks in the World 2021 by assets

Below is a list of the largest banks in the world ranked by total assets at the end of 2021. Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) remained the largest bank in the world with assets of $5.54 trillion, and the four largest Chinese lenders together held $19.081 trillion, 10.2% more than a year earlier. The top 10 banks held combined assets of about $37.7 trillion. The top 100 include 19 Chinese banks, 12 US banks, 8 Japanese banks, 6 each from the UK, France, Canada and South Korea, 5 German banks, 4 from Australia, 3 each from Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Singapore, Brazil and Sweden, 2 Italian banks and one each from India, Finland, Denmark, Russia, Belgium, Austria, Norway and Qatar.
