United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB), established in 1935 by Datuk Wee Kheng Chiang, is the third largest bank in Singapore in terms of total assets. The company provides retail banking, commercial banking, business banking, wealth banking, private banking, corporate and investment banking, treasury and capital market services, insurance, online banking and more. UOB's banking subsidiaries are United Overseas Bank (Malaysia), United Overseas Bank (Thai), PT Bank UOB Indonesia, United Overseas Bank (China) and United Overseas Bank (Vietnam), the last of these established as a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2018. Far Eastern Bank Limited, formerly a wholly-owned banking subsidiary, was merged into United Overseas Bank on 1 October 2017 and ceased to exist as a separate bank. United Overseas Bank Philippines (UOBP) was converted from a wholly-owned subsidiary to a commercial bank branch (UOBL Manila Branch). At the end of 2025 UOB Group employed more than 31,000 staff and operated a network of about 430 branches and offices in 19 markets in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. As of December 31, 2025, United Overseas Bank had total assets of S$572.1 billion, customer deposits of S$426 billion and gross customer loans of S$352 billion. Net profit after tax and operating profit for the 2025 financial year amounted to S$4.68 billion and S$7.65 billion, respectively. As of June 30, 2026, group total assets stood at S$590 billion, customer deposits at S$437 billion and gross customer loans at S$361 billion, with net profit after tax of S$1.48 billion for the second quarter of 2026. UOB ranked 4th in Safest Banks in Asia (after DBS, OCBC and Korea Development Bank), according to the Global Finance magazine.

UOB acquired Citigroup's consumer banking businesses in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The acquisitions completed in Malaysia and Thailand on 1 November 2022, in Vietnam on 1 March 2023 and in Indonesia on 18 November 2023, with provisional goodwill of S$106 million recognised on the Vietnam and Indonesia transactions.
