HSBC Holdings plc (LSE: HSBA, NYSE: HBC) is one of the largest financial services companies in the world. It serves over 95 million customers through an international network of more than 7,500 offices in 88 countries. HSBC operates in five regions: Europe; Asia, including the Middle East; Africa; North America and South America. As of December 31, 2010, HSBC was the largest company listed on the London Stock Exchange, with a market capitalisation of US$180 billion. HSBC remains one of the world's most strongly capitalised and liquid banks with a tier one capital ratio of 12.1% and a loan to deposit ratio of 78.1% (12/2010). HSBC Bank USA is a subsidiary of HSBC North America Holdings, one of the ten largest banking companies in the United States. HSBC Bank USA serves almost 4 million clients through a network of nearly 500 branches throughout the United States.
