Man Group plc is a leading independent asset manager with US$96 billion in funds under management (FUM) as of June 30, 2017. It offers a wide range of alternative and traditional investment products to private investors, institutions and financial professionals around the world. The company operates about 10 offices worldwide with key centers in the U.S., Switzerland, Liechtenstein, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Uruguay. Man Group is listed on the London Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of over GBP 2 billion as of December 21, 2016. In 2010, Man Group acquired GLG Partners Inc, a large discretionary fund manager. In May 2012, Man agreed to acquire the entire issued share capital of FRM Holdings Ltd, a hedge fund investment firm. In August 2014, Man acquired Pine Grove Asset Management LLC, a credit-focused fund of hedge fund manager. In December 2014, Man Group announced acquisition of Merrill Lynch Alternative Investments LLC’s Fund of Hedge Fund Portfolio with total AUM of US$1.2 billion. Man GLG was named 'Leading Pan-European Hedge Fund' in the 2016 Extel Survey. Man Group was established in 1783 and employs over 1,050 people.
