UBI Banca (Unione di Banche Italiane Scpa) is one of the top five banking groups in Italy by total assets with a market share of about 6% and a significant presence in the wealthiest areas of the country. Nine retail banks, a full range of product companies (from insurance to factoring, from leasing to asset management to investment banking), and a growing international network, shape the profile of the Group. UBI has around 2,000 local branches of which over half were located in Lombardy (where the two largest members of its retail network, Banca Popolare di Bergamo and Banca di Brescia, are headquartered) and Piedmont.
