Intesa Sanpaolo is among the top banking groups in the euro zone, with a market capitalization of 31.8 billion euro (as at 30 September 2010), and is a leader in Italy in all business areas (retail, corporate and wealth management).  The Group has network of over 5,800 branches throughout the country and offers its services to more than 11 million customers. Intesa Sanpaolo has a selected presence in Central-Eastern Europe, Middle Eastern and North African countries with a network of over 1,800 branches and 8.5 million customers. The company was created on January 1, 2007, through the merger of two leading Italian banking groups, Banca Intesa and Sanpaolo IMI.
