Credito Emiliano SpA (Credem, Gruppo Bancario Credito Emiliano, CredemBanca) is a holding company, operating in the banking sector. It was founded in 1910 by a group of entrepreneurs in Reggio Emilia. Credem distribution network consist of more than 560 branches, 41 corporate centers, 53 financial stores with over 5,570 employees, 929 financial advisors with mandate and 196 Creacasa agents. Credem is listed on Italian stock exchange since October 1997 (Borsa Italiana: CE.MI). Credito Emiliano offers a wide range of corporate and retail banking services including current and savings accounts, personal loans, mortgages, debit and credit cards, investments, mutual funds, auto and home insurance, online banking, leasing, factoring, wealth management and more. Credito Emiliano SpA., Reggio Emilia, is 76.9% owned by Credito Emiliano Holding SpA. The Maramotti family indirectly controls about 34% of voting rights in the latter. The Maramotti family also owns MaxMara Fashion Group. Established in 1951 by Achille Maramotti, MaxMara had more than 2,250 stores in 90 countries. As of September 30, 2012, Credem had total assets of EUR 30.551 billion, customer deposits of EUR 13.404 billion and loans to customers of EUR 20,519 billion.
