Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) is the largest stock exchange in Asia and one of the largest in the world by market capitalization and trade volume. TSE had 3,531 listed companies with a market capitalization of approximately US$5.0 trillion as of October 21, 2016. In 2013, Tokyo Stock Exchange merged with Osaka Securities Exchange to form Japan Exchange Group Inc (JPX), the world's third largest bourse. TSE is home to the largest and best-known Japanese giants with a global presence, including Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi. Like America's "Wall Street" and England's "City," "Kabutocho" where the Tokyo Stock Exchange is located, has become synonymous with the securities market and securities industry in Japan. The company was established in May 1878 as the Tokyo Kabushiki Torihikijo.
