NZX Limited is a stock market located in Wellington. NZX operates the New Zealand securities, derivatives and energy markets and provides a range of data to support market growth and development on a global scale. In May 2003, New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZSE) formally changed its name to New Zealand Exchange (trading as NZX), and it listed its own securities on its main equity market in June 2003. At September 2016, NZX had 302 listed securities with a combined market capitalization of $122 billion. S&P/NZX 50 INDEX (NZ50) is the best known market index designed to measure the performance of the 50 largest companies listed on the Main Board.
