Banco Pastor

Banco Pastor, S.A. was the second oldest banking institution in Spain. The origins of the Bank can be traced back to 1776. The company provided a broad range of products and services for personal and business customers. It offered deposit products, personal and mortgage loans, business loans, education loans, credit and debit cards, payments, investments, pension plans, treasury and trade services, leasing, corporate accounts, online and phone banking, private banking (banca privada) as well as life and home Insurance, health Insurance, auto Insurance, accident insurance, payment protection insurance and other services.

In 2012, Banco Pastor was acquired by Banco Popular Español, which continued to run it as a separate entity. All branches of Banco Pastor were located exclusively in the autonomous region of Galicia.

Banco Pastor passed to Banco Santander in June 2017 together with its parent Banco Popular Español, which the European Central Bank declared failing or likely to fail on 6 June 2017 and whose shares and capital instruments the Single Resolution Board transferred to Banco Santander on 7 June 2017. Banco Pastor was subsequently merged into the Santander group and no longer exists as a separate bank; it does not appear in the European Central Bank list of supervised entities with a cut-off date of 1 July 2026, and the www.bancopastor.es website has been discontinued.
