AFC Merchant Bank

AFC Merchant Bank (AFC) was a Singapore merchant bank. It was incorporated as Asean Finance Corporation in Singapore in 1981. The Bank's shareholders were major financial institutions from 5 original members within ASEAN (Association of South-East Asian Nations) namely Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. AFC received its merchant banking licence from MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) in 1988 and took the name AFC Merchant Bank in 1991.

Mission and Principal Activities:
AFC’s mission was the promotion of industrialization and economic development in the ASEAN region. Its principal activities were merchant banking with a focus on the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
