Bank of India (BoI) was established on September 7, 1906 in Mumbai. It was under private ownership and control till July 1969 when it was nationalized along with 13 other banks. BoI is one of India's leading banks with total revenue of approximately INR 476.63 billion (US$7.04 billion) in 2014-2015 FY. The company operates 4,892 domestic branches (including 271 specialized branches) and 6,770 ATMs spread over all states. The Bank has sizable presence abroad, with a network of over 55 offices in 22 countries, including 5 subsidiaries, 5 representative offices and 1 joint venture, at key financial centers: London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Hong-Kong and Singapore. Bank of India established new subsidiaries in New Zealand, Uganda and Botswana in 2011, 2012, and 2013, respectively. The international business accounts for over 18.0% of Bank's total business. As of March 31, 2015, the company had consolidated total assets of INR 6.253 trillion (US$100.03 billion) and deposits of INR 5.345 trillion (US$85.5 billion). Mr. B. P. Sharma has been the CEO of Bank of India since June 5, 2015.
