Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) is one of "Big Four" state-owned commercial banks. ICBC is the biggest bank in the world by total assets and, according to its 2025 annual report, had been ranked first in The Banker’s Top 1000 World Banks for the thirteenth consecutive year. As of April 2017, the company’s market capitalization was US$245 billion. The Chinese government owns approximately 70% of ICBC. As at December 31, 2025 the company had 409,758 employees and 16,246 institutions, of which 15,836 were domestic and 410 overseas. It operated 15,434 outlets and 47,017 ATMs and served over 14.00 million corporate customers and over 780 million personal customers. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China was established on January 1, 1984 and was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange in October 2006. ICBC’s total assets amounted to RMB 53.48 trillion as of December 31, 2025, an increase of 9.5% on the year.
