Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) is one of "Big Four" state-owned commercial banks. ICBC is the biggest bank in world by total assets and market capitalization. As of April 2017, the company’s market capitalization was US$245 billion. The Chinese government owns approximately 70% of ICBC. With over 460,000 employees, the company provides a wide range of products and services to approximately 500 million retail and corporate customers through over 16,400 outlets and 100,000 ATMs nationwide, more than 400 overseas offices and a global network of over 1,600 correspondent banks. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China was established on January 1, 1984 and was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange in October 2006. As of December 31, 2016, ICBC’s total assets amounted to CNY 24.1 trillion (US$3.5 trillion).
