Banco Interacciones, S.A.

Banco Interacciones, S.A. was a Mexican bank that merged into Banco Mercantil del Norte, S.A. (Banorte) on July 13, 2018. It was established in 1993 and operated as a subsidiary of Grupo Financiero Interacciones, S.A. de C.V. The Bank specialised in lending to Mexican states and municipalities and provided personal, corporate and government banking services as well as agribusiness support services, factoring, project financing, online banking and other services. Banco Interacciones represented 90% of Grupo Financiero Interacciones assets and was complemented by brokerage subsidiary Casa de Bolsa Interacciones and insurance unit Aseguradora Interacciones. As of March 31, 2017, Banco Interacciones had total assets of MXN 204.273 billion (USD 11 billion) and loan portfolio of over MXN 105 billion.

The merger of Grupo Financiero Interacciones, S.A. de C.V. into Grupo Financiero Banorte, and of Banco Interacciones into Banco Mercantil del Norte, took effect on July 13, 2018. The Ministry of Finance and Public Credit had authorised the transaction on July 10, 2018, taking the opinion of Banco de México, the National Banking and Securities Commission and the National Insurance and Bonding Commission. Banco Interacciones ceased to exist as a separate institution and no longer appears on the National Banking and Securities Commission list of licensed banca múltiple institutions.
