Julius Baer Group Ltd (Julius Bär Gruppe) (Six Swiss Exchange: BAER) is the leading Swiss private banking firm. Bank Julius Baer & Co., established in 1890, is the Group’s main operating entity. The Group offers asset and wealth management, investment solutions, investment funds for private and institutional investors, securities and foreign exchange trading, loans, mortgages and other services. The Merrill Lynch acquisition lifted Julius Baer into 12th place from 15th place among the world’s largest private banks in terms of AUM. In 2015, the Group acquired Fransad Gestion SA, Geneva and private banking business of Israeli Bank Leumi. Julius Baer was named "Best Private Bank Switzerland" 2015 by CFI publication and won two awards at the PBI’s (Private Banker International) Global Wealth Awards 2016. As at June 30, 2017, the Group had total assets of CHF 93.151 billion, assets under management (AUM) of CHF 354.7 billion, and total client assets of over CHF 400 billion. The company's market capitalization is US$12 billion (August 7, 2017).
