Veneto Banca S.p.A. is a mid-sized Italian bank offering deposit products, consumer loans, mortgages, insurance, internet banking, asset management and other services. It operates through over 400 branches across Italy as well as has a presence in four European countries. Veneto Banca Group includes the following domestic banks and companies: Banca Apulia, Banca Intermobiliare (BIM) (specialised in private banking and wealth management), Claris Leasing and Claris Factor as well as four foreign banks, namely Veneto Banka Croazia, Veneto Banca Albania, Veneto Banca Romania and Eximbank in Moldova. The Bank’s history dates back to 1877, the year in which the Banca Popolare di Montebelluna was established. In February 2016, Veneto Banca filed the request for the admission to listing of its ordinary shares on the Mercato Telematico Azionario (MTA) managed by Borsa Italiana. As of December 31, 2016, the company had total assets of EUR 28.078 billion.

Veneto Banca and Banca Popolare di Vicenza will be wound down by Italian government after the European Central Bank (ECB) confirmed that the banks are failing or likely to fail.
