HSH Nordbank AG is a commercial bank in Germany. Its business areas include corporate banking, private banking, real estate financing, savings banks, shipping, energy & infrastructure and financial markets. Internationally, it focuses on corporate clients in the areas of shipping as well as renewable energy and infrastructure. It is the world’s largest shipping bank. The company has two head offices in Kiel and Hamburg and significant operations in Luxembourg, New York and Singapore. HSH Nordbank AG was established in 2003 through the merger of Hamburgische Landesbank and Landesbank Schleswig-Holstein. As of December 31, 2016, it had total assets of EUR 82.7 billion, customer loans of EUR 52.9 billion, customer deposits of EUR 41.5 billion, and equity capital of EUR 4.3 billion. With about 2,200 employees, HSH Nordbank operates as a subsidiary of HSH Finanzfonds AoR.
