BRED Banque Populaire is the largest commercial bank within BPCE Group. As of 2024, the company served more than 1.6 million customers through a network of 481 locations, 75 of them outside France. The French network includes the French Overseas Departments (La Réunion, Mayotte, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Guyana), while the international network comprises branches and subsidiaries in the Horn of Africa (Djibouti), Southeast Asia and Oceania (Laos, Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomon, New-Caledonia) and representation offices in Myanmar and Ethiopia. It also operates 16 business centers, 12 asset management centers, wealth management division and BRED Espace, a 100% online bank. The international trade activity is performed by BIC BRED Suisse. As of December 31, 2016, BRED Banque Populaire had total assets of EUR 65 billion and employed 5,500 people. In 2017, the company opened BRED Bank Cambodia and BRED Bank Solomon (a BRED Vanuatu subsidiary in the Solomon Islands). In 2024, BRED Banque Populaire employed more than 7,300 people, had more than 200,000 cooperative shareholders and reported consolidated net banking income of EUR 1.47 billion and net income of EUR 391 million, with shareholders’ equity of EUR 7.1 billion. It is chaired by Isabelle Gratiant, with Jean-Paul Julia as chief executive officer.
