Československá obchodní banka, a.s. (ČSOB) is a universal bank serving over 2.8 million customers through over 230 retail/SME branches and advisory centers, 10 leasing branches, 11 corporate branches, banking outlets at Czech Post offices and 1,060 ATMs across the country. Until 2019 CSOB operated under two retail brands in the Czech Republic – CSOB and Postovni sporitelna (Postal Savings Bank or PSB); from that year the group consolidated its financial services under the single CSOB brand, and the services sold through post offices are branded CSOB Postovni sporitelna, with Ceska posta acting as a long-term partner of the CSOB Group rather than as the operator of a separate bank. In April 2023 the Czech government lowered the statutory minimum number of post offices Ceska posta must operate from 3,200 to 2,900. The company offers savings and current accounts, entrepreneurial accounts, time deposits, consumer loans, car loans, American mortgage, mortgage loans for legal entities and entrepreneurs, special purpose loans for clients in a municipal sphere, Visa and Master Cards, shares funds, pension products, asset management, leasing, factoring, local and global custody, securities trading, internet banking, mobile banking and more. It also offers insurance services such as car insurance, life insurance, accident insurance, loan insurance, insurance to mortgages and travel insurance. Ceskoslovenska obchodni banka was established in 1964 and became a member of Belgium’s KBC Group in 1999. CSOB was named the Best Private Bank in the Czech Republic by Euromoney and the Best FX Provider 2017 by Global Finance magazine. With over 8,200 employees, CSOB is one of the highest rated banks in Czechia.
