Bankhaus Carl Spängler & Co. AG (or Bankhaus Spängler), established in 1828, is the oldest private bank in Austria with headquarters in Salzburg. In 1996, Spängler opened a branch in Vienna. Currently, it employs over 250 people and operates through 10 branches in Salzburg, Pinzgau, Linz, Vienna and Kitzbühel. The company owns the most important collection of gold coins and medals. In 2015, Bankhaus Spängler combined private clients and private banking consulting capacities in one location at head office with the aim of further increasing consulting quality. The company has total assets of EUR 1.259 billion.
