HSBC Chile

HSBC Bank (Chile) is the banking unit of UK-based HSBC Group, one of the largest financial institutions in the world, with total assets of US$3.23 trillion at December 31, 2025. HSBC Chile offers a wide range of financial products and services to corporate and institutional customers with focus on foreign trade operations, treasury and securities intermediation. In 2012, the Bank sold its personal finance business to Banco Itau Chile. It has since operated as a corporate and institutional bank, and after the group reorganization of January 2025 reports its principal activity as Corporate and Institutional Banking. HSBC Bank Chile was established in 1981 and is based in Santiago. As of March 31, 2017, it had Ch$ 1.372 trillion (US$2.2 billion) in total assets and Ch$ 696 billion in deposits. Its audited financial statements report total assets of Ch$ 2,206,596 million (Ch$ 2.21 trillion) at December 31, 2025. At June 30, 2026, the bank had 96 employees and a share of approximately 0.1% of lending in the Chilean banking market.
