Banco Itaú Chile (SSE: ITAUCL), known as Itaú Corpbanca until 2023, provides a wide array of financial services to retail and corporate customers. It offers various deposit and lending products, credit cards, online banking, investments, mortgages, insurance, factoring, leasing and much more. It had over 9,600 employees in 2017, when it was the fourth largest bank in Chile by assets and the sixth largest bank in Colombia by assets, loans and deposits. In 2017 the network consisted of 224 branches and 500 ATMs in Chile and 174 branches and 180 ATMs in Colombia. It also has operations in Peru and Panama as well as branch in New York and representative office in Madrid. CorpBanca is the oldest bank in Chile established in 1871. One of the important milestones was acquisition of Banco Santander Colombia SA (today Itaú CorpBanca Colombia S.A.) and Helm bank in 2012-2013. In 2014, Itau Unibanco Holding (the largest private bank in Brazil) agreed to buy CorpBanca for at least US$2.3 billion. In April 2016, Itau Unibanco completed the merger of its Chilean unit Banco Itau Chile with CorpBanca S.A. The new entity was named Itaú Corpbanca. As of May 31, 2017, the company had Ch$ 29.575 trillion (US$44 billion) in total assets. The bank was renamed Banco Itaú Chile in the first half of 2023, its Santiago Stock Exchange ticker changing from ITAUCORP to ITAUCL on April 24, 2023. Following a tender offer launched in June 2023 by ITB Holding Brasil Participações Ltda. of the Itaú Unibanco group, at Ch$ 8,500 per share for the shares the group did not already hold, the bank filed a Form 25 on November 9, 2023 to delist its American Depositary Shares from the New York Stock Exchange. The delisting became effective on November 20, 2023, and the bank filed a Form 15F with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission the same day to terminate its registration. Figures published by the Chilean Financial Market Commission put the bank at 9.2% of system loans and 8.1% of deposits at December 31, 2025, the smallest of the six largest banks in Chile on both measures.
