Walmart Canada Bank

Walmart Canada Bank was a Canadian bank that offered low-cost financial services. It operated as a subsidiary of Wal-Mart Canada Corp., part of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and issued the Walmart Rewards Mastercard, a no annual fee card that was available only in store. Walmart Canada sold the bank in 2019 to an investor group led by Stephen Smith and Centerbridge Partners, and it was renamed Duo Bank of Canada; following its acquisition of Fairstone Financial it was rebranded Fairstone Bank of Canada in 2022. Walmart Canada Bank no longer appears among the institutions regulated by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.
