Citi Canada is a subsidiary of Citigroup, Inc. Citi's business lines in Canada are Citi Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory; Citi Commercial Bank; Citi Markets; Citi Securities Services; Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions; Citi Private Bank; and Citi Cards Canada. Greenwich Associates named Citi the #1 Global Bank in Canada for Corporate Derivatives in its Greenwich Quality Index for three consecutive years. Citi Canada's products and services include consumer and commercial credit cards, leasing, cash management, trade finance and transaction services. Personal and home equity loans, debt consolidation loans, first and second mortgages and insurance products distributed through Triton Insurance Company and American Health and Life Insurance Company belonged to the Canadian consumer lending business Citi has since exited and are no longer offered by Citi in Canada. Citi Cards Canada is part of Citi Retail Services and is based in Mississauga, Ontario. With roots in Canada dating back to 1919, Citi has been operating in the country since the 1950s. Citi closed its Canadian retail bank in 2010; its Canadian business lines are now primarily institutional and commercial, alongside Citi Cards Canada. Citi's offices in Canada are in Toronto, Mississauga, Montréal, Calgary and Vancouver. It is a member of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) and Canadian Bankers Association (CBA). In November 2016, Citi agreed to sell CitiFinancial Canada Inc, an alternative lender, to an investor group led by J.C. Flowers & Co. and Värde Partners; the divestiture was completed in 2017, and CitiFinancial is no longer one of Citi's Canadian business lines. Citibank Canada remains a Schedule II foreign bank subsidiary on the register of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI). As at June 30, 2026, it had total assets of C$8.72 billion, down from C$12.042 billion in May 2017.
