Equitorial Trust Bank Limited (ETB or Equitorial Bank) was a major player in the consumer lending market segment and telecommunications sector. It was incorporated on January 30, 1990 as a limited liability company. In 2006, ETB merged with the Devcom Bank. Equitorial Bank is one of the 10 banks bailed out by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 2009. As of June 2011, ETB had approximately 100 branch locations across Nigeria.

In October 2011, Equitorial Trust Bank was acquired by Sterling Bank Plc, a major financial services provider offering a wide range of services to individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations and government-affiliated agencies.
