Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. (BMPS) is one of the leading banks in Italy and the oldest bank in the world. With more than 5 million customers, it operates through an extensive network of over 1,800 domestic branches of which 383 branches in Toscana, 261 branches in Lombardia, 247 branches in Veneto, 163 branches in Lazio, 126 branches in Sicilia, 123 branches in Emilia Romagna, 109 branches in Puglia, and 104 branches in Campania. It also has more than 40 branches and representative offices abroad. As of March 31, 2017, it had total assets of EUR 148.805 billion and total equity of EUR 6.04 billion.
