PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg eG, established in 1872, was a local retail bank serving over 83,000 customers in the states of Berlin and Brandenburg. With approximately 130 employees, it provided a broad array of financial products and services including current and savings accounts, personal and car loans, mortgage loans, Visa and Master Cards, investments, pension planning, insurance products, mobile and online banking and other services. Together with thirteen other independent PSD Banks it was a member of the National Association of German Cooperative Banks (Bundesverband der Deutschen Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken, BVR). As of December 2015, PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg had total assets of EUR 1.682 billion, deposits of EUR 1.319 billion and customer loans of EUR 1.024 billion. In 2016, it was named “Most popular regional bank in Germany”. The bank ceased to exist as a separate institution in 2025: its general assembly approved a merger into BBBank eG of Karlsruhe on 24 June 2025 and the representative assembly of BBBank followed on 28 June 2025, with BBBank continuing as the surviving legal and technical institution. The cooperative register at the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg records PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg eG as dissolved. The technical migration of the business ran from 12 to 14 September 2025, and the PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg brand was retired rather than retained as a second brand, leaving BBBank with a combined balance sheet total of about EUR 22 billion and a customer business volume of about EUR 41 billion.
