Crédit du Nord Group

Credit du Nord was founded in Lille in 1848 and provides a wide range of banking services to individual and corporate customers. With 9,000 employees, it has network of nearly 900 branches and serves more than 2 million retail customers, 274,000 professionals and associations and 54,000 business and institutional clients. The Group comprises 8 regional banks - Courtois, Kolb, Laydernier, Nuger, Rhône-Alpes, Tarneaud, Société Marseillaise de Crédit and Crédit du Nord as well as Gilbert Dupont, a stock broker.  In 1988, Paribas became sole shareholder of Crédit du Nord.  In 1997, Crédit du Nord was acquired by Societe Generale. As of December 31, 2015, the company had EUR 38 billion in customer loans and EUR 36.9 billion in customer deposits. Crédit du Nord Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Societe Generale.
