BBVA Bélgica

BBVA no longer offers retail banking in Belgium. The bank's Belgian website carries a standing phishing warning stating that “BBVA no longer markets in Belgium, or from Belgium, loans or savings products to individuals or small businesses, nor does it use direct customer acquisition strategies”. The linked notice states that BBVA has ceased all retail banking activity in Belgium and warns that fraudsters are misusing the BBVA name to offer loans and savings products. The warning was in place by June 2024. The Belgian operation formerly offered current and savings accounts, term deposits, classic and gold Visa cards, debit cards, mortgages, car loans, renovation loans, personal loans, credit lines and online banking, together with life, home, car, domestic employee, pension, civil liability and tenant liability insurance.  BBVA was incorporated in Belgium as Banco Español en Bruselas S.A. in 1962.
