Addiko Bank AG

Addiko Bank AG (formerly Hypo Group Alpe Adria AG), headquartered in Vienna, is financial group with a banking network in Southeast Europe (SEE). It operates in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. The company focuses on retail customers, small and medium-sized enterprises and regional corporates. It offers deposit and lending products, leasing services, foreign exchange, payment transactions, investment banking, online banking and other services. As of 30 June 2026, Addiko Group served approximately 0.9 million customers in CSEE through a network of 154 branches, and in 2025 it entered the Romanian market by passporting through its Slovenian banking subsidiary. Group headcount was 2,718 at 31 December 2025, equivalent to 2,529 full-time equivalents. The company was formerly known as Hypo Group Alpe Adria AG (HGAA) and changed its name to Addiko Bank in July 2016. Addiko Bank AG has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange since 12 July 2019, and AI Lake (Luxembourg) Sarl, through which Advent International Corporation and the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) had held the bank, is no longer a shareholder. On 3 August 2026 Raiffeisen Bank International AG announced that its voluntary public takeover offer had been accepted for 10,831,435 shares, some 55.55% of the share capital, exceeding its minimum acceptance threshold, while a competing offer from Nova Ljubljanska banka d.d. reached 31.22% and failed. Completion remains subject to the remaining offer conditions, including regulatory and antitrust approvals, which must be fulfilled by 14 May 2027. In June 2017, Addiko Bank launched Tagesgeld, an online direct deposit service in Austria with a 0.90% interest rate.
