Banco Provincia

Banco Provincia (Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires), founded on September 6, 1822, was the first bank in Spanish America. In 1856, it granted the first mortgage loan in the country. Banco Provincia is among the largest banks in Argentina, ranking fifth by deposits and sixth by assets in June 2026, when it operated 349 branches, a further 45 branches of specific operation and three mobile branches, 2,027 automated teller machines and 874 self-service terminals. Its network abroad consists of a branch in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and a branch in Montevideo (Uruguay); the Cayman Islands branch and the representative offices in Panama, Santiago (Chile) and Madrid (Spain) are no longer recorded in the register of foreign locations maintained by Argentina's central bank. With over 10,000 employees, Banco Provincia offers current and savings accounts, loans, credit and debit cards, investments, mutual funds, lines of credit, foreign trade, SME banking, agricultural banking, internet and mobile banking and other services. As of June 2026, Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires had total assets of ARS 22.78 trillion and deposits of ARS 16.17 trillion.
