Bank Hottinger & Cie Ltd is a private bank founded in 1786 in Paris by Hans Konrad Hottinger. The firm was formerly known as Banque Hottinger and changed its name to Hottinger & Cie in 1968. The company provides typical private banking services including wealth management, investment advisory, trust and corporate services and trading. The Hottinger Group is present in the major financial centers in the world, such as Paris, London, Brussels, Luxembourg, Vienna, Toronto, Nassau and New York. Together with partner companies, the Group employs over 130 people. The name Hottinger has been closely linked with the political, economic and cultural development of the city of Zurich since 1362. In the year 1401 Hans, Heinrich and Rudolf become citizens of the city. Towards the end of the 18 century, the family turns to banking operations. In 1786, Hans Konrad Hottinger leaves Zurich in order to found the bank in Paris that still bears his name today. After around 200 years of banking tradition in the French capital, the family comes back to Zurich in 1968. Banque Hottinguer in France was sold to Credit Suisse in 1997. Today, Bank Hottinger & Cie in Switzerland continues its activities independently. Hottinger family members remain majority shareholders in Bank Hottinger & Cie.
