Ikano Bank offers savings accounts, cheap personal and car loans, mortgages, credit cards, store cards, insurance, corporate leasing, factoring and other services. The company conducts its business in Sweden, Norway, Austria, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Russia, Finland and the United Kingdom. It was formerly known as IkanoBanken and changed its name to Ikano Bank in 2009. As of December 2016, Ikano Bank had total assets of SEK 41.5 billion, loans to the public of SEK 26.845 billion, deposits from the public of SEK 24.180 billion and total equity of SEK 4.7 billion. The common equity Tier 1 capital was SEK 5 billion. Ikano Bank is a part of the Ikano Group which was founded in 1988 by Ingvar Kamprad. The Group owns and develops competitive and profitable niche companies in the fields of finance, real estate, insurance and retail. Ikano Group employs approximately 3,800 people and had over EUR 7 billion in assets.
