Forex Bank AB is a Sweden-based financial services company, founded in 1927. It provides currency exchange, savings and loans, credit cards, cashier and money transfer services. Until the beginning of the 1990s, FOREX Bank was the only company besides the banks that was licensed by the Bank of Sweden to trade in currencies. Since 2003, Forex is a licensed bank. Today, FOREX Bank is one of the world’s biggest foreign exchange bureaus with a turnover in 2008 of more than 5.1 billion US dollars. The Bank has more than 120 branches in four countries: Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. During 2010, a new branch was opened in Denmark, as well as one in Norway. A new branch belonging to the X-change business was also opened. As of December 31, 2010, the Forex had total assets of more than 4.88 billion SEK.
