NIBC Bank N.V. (De Nationale Investeringsbank) is a Dutch merchant bank that offers corporate banking services through a combination of advice, financing and co-investment. Its consumer services include residential mortgages and online retail savings products via NIBC Direct in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. NIBC has maintained a presence in London, Europe’s financial capital, since 1995. The London office has a strong track record in infrastructure & renewables financing, equity fund management, leveraged loan financing and investment management. The company was established in 1945 with a fundamental social purpose: to provide financing for the entrepreneurs who helped rebuild the Netherlands after World War II. NIBC is owned by a consortium of international financial institutions organised by J.C. Flowers & Co LLC, which is a private equity investment firm based in New York and run by billionaire J. Christopher Flowers. NIBC Bank N.V. operates as a subsidiary of NIBC Holding N.V. As of March 2017, the company had total assets of EUR 23.5 billion and residential mortgages of about EUR 9 billion.
