Saxo Bank A/S is an international investment bank established in 1992 under the name Midas Fondsmæglerselskab. It specializes in online trading and investment across global financial markets. Saxo Bank enables to trade FX, CFDs, ETFs, Stocks, Futures, Options and other derivatives through multi-asset trading platforms: the browser-based SaxoWebTrader, the downloadable SaxoTrader and the SaxoTrader Mobile App. It also offers professional portfolio, fund management and private banking services through Saxo Privatbank. With around 1,600 employees, the company has international offices across Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and South America. In 2010, Saxo Bank launched a new equity platform able to trade in over 11,000 stocks and other products listed on 23 major exchanges worldwide. In 2011, it opened the first branch of Saxo Privatbank and new offices in Hong Kong, Belgium, Panama, Russia and Cyprus. Saxo Bank is privately owned, and Kim Fournais, Lars Seier Christensen and TPG Capital hold the majority shares in the company. As of June 30, 2016, Saxo Group had total assets of DKK 36.797 billion (US$5.5 billion), assets under management (wealth management) of DKK 14.1 billion (US$2.1 billion) and clients' collateral deposits of DKK 82 billion (US$12 billion).
