Komerční banka, a.s (KB) is one of the leading banking institutions in the Czech Republic. KB is a universal bank providing retail, corporate, and investment banking services. It offers savings accounts, consumer loans, mortgages, credit cards, online banking, asset management, pension funds, factoring as well as car insurance, property insurance, travel insurance, life insurance and among others. The Bank serves more than 1.6 million clients through a network of about 400 branches and 700 ATMs across the Czech Republic. The average number of employees within KB Group reached 7,850 during 2012. Komercni banka is a part of Societe Generale Group. In 2001, the government sold its 60% stake in the bank to Societe Generale for 40 CZK billion. Societe Generale Group is one of the largest financial services groups in the euro zone. Komercni banka represents an important part of Societe Generale Group’s retail banking business. As of December 31, 2012, the Bank's total assets amounted to CZK 786.836 billion (US$41.5 billion).
